"I see this being totally related to the Creative Case. We’re talking about expanding the possibilities, expanding the repertoire, expanding the opportunities that people have as composers, as creative musicians, to make the work that will take the work into the future."
Ian Ritchie has always been interested in ‘orchestras fit for purpose for today’s society’ through his Directorship of City Of London Festival and the commissioning of a new work by Nigel Osborne with Clarence’ Adoo’s Headspace ensemble and Skoog technology.
His commissioning of work for new instruments reflects the potential and prowess in new sounds worlds. Recognising the unique contributions of individuals and technology and sharing the results on world platforms, Ian believes that if the City of London can put this work centre stage, anyone can.
